Our people

Our strength is our team. Although we are an expanding business we work hard to retain our family culture which is rooted in our core values.

Our organisation is a great place to work where employees feel supported and motivated to do the best job they can for our customers.  We expect a lot from everyone who works for us, but we also give a lot in return.

We focus our attention on retaining and developing our people because we recognise the importance of a talented, happy and valued workforce.  We make it our priority to support them in their career development and provide competitive pay and a variety of benefits to ensure the enjoy a positive work-life balance.

This is reflected in being voted amongst ‘Best Companies Sunday Times Top 100 Companies to Work For’ by our employees. Furthermore, we are proud to hold a Bronze Investors in People Award which demonstrates that our organisation is a workplace where our people can perform to the highest standards and be recognised for achieving sustained success.

We take what we do well and aim to do it better, year-on-year; our passion for excellence never ceases.

Our benefits

Our employees have the option to choose from a comprehensive range of benefits to support their well-being such as a free fresh fruit scheme, discounted gym memberships and in-house treatments including acupuncture and holistic therapies.

In addition we ‘top up’ our benefits with annual campaigns; this year we held a series of breast check clinics for all female colleagues under the age of 50 years. Working in partnership with Breast Health UK, colleagues could sign up to a personal session where they were guided through how to self-assess to be alert to any possible signs of breast cancer. These individual sessions were also support by group presentations where colleagues were given the opportunity to find out how to reduce the risk of developing breast cancer through lifestyle choices and self-awareness.

We promote a relaxed working environment where we observe a casual dress code and many of our sites benefits from free car parking.

Where our office premises allow we encourage our colleagues to cycle, run or walk to work providing secure facilities in which to store their bikes and bespoke shower facilities to freshen up ready for the day ahead.

And we recognise that there are times when our colleagues and their families may need additional support. Balancing everyday life together with the requirements of work and home can create pressures for all of us; our Employee Assistance Programme provides 24/7 access to professional support services, should they be required.

Social events and clubs

Getting to know each other and taking time out to celebrate our successes is important to us. We host frequent social events for our employees and their families, including an annual music festival – T-Fest – which features live bands, a children’s disco, BBQ, bar and refreshments.

In previous years we have also held the popular Rutland Fun Day where teams compete against each other in rowing, wind surfing and other aquatic challenges.

Our year traditionally concludes with a Christmas party for the Group. This is our opportunity to thank employees for all their hard work and dedication over the past 12 months.

A similar calendar of events is held for our colleagues in Lisbon, Portugal. Events there include an annual family picnic at a local park in the spring and a summer beach party every July with music, surfing tuition and barbecue.
