Company Number: 2044219

Founded in 1963 by Joan Brander, Vitalise (formerly the Winged Fellowship Trust) is a nationally recognised disability charity providing services for disabled & visually impaired people. They aim to offer choice through their enabling environment whilst providing essential breaks for carers and inspirational opportunities for volunteers.

I am raising money for their Skylarks Centre near Nottingham, this is one of centres they run. Offering an extensive programme of short breaks with 24-hour personal care-on-call they provide a supportive, family-like environment with facilities such as a restaurant, bar, leisure, swimming pool and garden. In addition to the specialist nursing provided by trained staff, each guest is assigned to a volunteer who provides friendship and support.

With a full range of activities, excursions, entertainment and themed weeks, the guests can have a break that is as relaxing, or as active, as they wish. The carers also have a break so that the quality of life is improved for everyone.

photoIn 2005, one of my company directors came in contact with Vitalise while visiting Nottingham. He was so impressed that it was decided to 'adopt' Vitalise as our company charity and specifically the Skylarks Centre in Nottingham. Everyone in our company has taken the charity to heart and we are endeavouring to organise and participate in a variety of fundraising events.

The Matt Hampson Trust Fund

Photo of matt hampsonMatt is a young prop forward from Leicester Tigers Rugby Union Football Club who suffered a serious neck injury while training for the England U-21 team. Matt is currently recovering from his injuries at the Stoke Mandeville Hospital.

Rugby clubs, their supporters and friends have rallied round to organise  money raisers and I’m no exception.

As an ardent Leicester Tigers supporter  I want to do my 'bit' in an effort to raise some much needed money for the trust fund.
