Excellent transport connections

A high-speed rail service means it take around twenty minutes to get to Peterborough and just over an hour to travel to London Kings Cross. Being on the Liverpool-Norwich and Skegness-Nottingham lines too means east-west travel is just as easy. Plus the town is right on the A1 so getting anywhere by car is a breeze too.

Shops galore

Whilst Nottingham is only 40 minutes or so away, Grantham itself has an expanding and developing town centre, with many thriving shops, indoor shopping centres and a bustling Saturday street market. If shopping is your thing, Grantham is home to high street, designer and independent outlets which you can browse and enjoy without the hustle and bustle of a city centre.

Places to visit

Just north of the town is historic Belton House, a restoration country mansion, managed by the National Trust, which is open to the public and set within 1,300 acres of landscaped parkland. Whilst to the west, the magnificent Belvoir Castle stands prominently overlooking the stunning Vale of Belvoir and picturesque villages, including Woolsthorpe, Redmile, and Knipton.

Highly-rated schools

There are numerous highly Ofsted-rated primary and secondary schools which accept pupils from within the town and surrounding villages. Other clubs and children-friendly venues also ensure the whole family is catered for.

Vibrant food and drink scene

A brand new multiplex cinema complex and vibrant arts centre are other great venues to visit. Plus, there is the biannual Gravity Field Festival, which explores physical science and celebrates one of the world’s greatest thinkers, Sir Isaac Newton who was born in the area.

Value for money properties

You get a lot more for your money in terms of property here – especially when you consider our brilliant rail service to the capital. The town picked up two accolades recently when it was named as one of the top commuter towns in the country with good value property and one of the best towns to live in Britain. Its affordable housing market means you can enjoy a more spacious property than in other parts of the country and enjoy a better quality of life.
