Congratulations; we are officially the 27th Best Company to work for based upon your feedback in The Sunday Times and Best Companies national survey. The full results are published in this weekend’s edition of The Sunday Times.
Within our financial category we came third, and when we benchmark companies across the East Midlands, we are the second best employer.
In what was already a challenging year, we took the unprecedented move to exclude the directors from the survey so we could see a true reflection of how you felt as a Totemic employee. Although this decision may have been an additional contributory factor in achieving our 27th ranking, this result is a tremendous achievement for Totemic and a tribute to all of you who have given the time to complete your surveys. We will use this invaluable information to help inform our communications and engagement strategy going forwards.
Commenting on our achievement of 27th place, Lianne Tapson, Strategic HR Director, said:
“A BIG, BIG thank you to all those who took time to complete the survey to deliver another outstanding result for Totemic this year. It is from your anonymous feedback that we get our truest picture of how you feel about everything that is Totemic. It is also important to realise that 1089 companies entered the survey for Best Companies accreditation in 2009 and each year the standard improves. The winner this year was a totally new entrant and is a social inclusion charity. So 27th is testament to how you feel about us and a celebration of the work we do together and the difference we all make”.
“We will be sharing the details of your results compared to last year – together with our exciting plans for 2010 – in the next weeks and I look forward to seeing you all. Thank you”.
Each company that enters The Sunday Times Top 100 and Best Companies survey is measured across eight categories:
- Leadership: how you feel about the leader of our company and our senior managers
- Wellbeing: how you feel about stress, pressure and the balance between your work and home life
- Give something back: how much you think our company puts back into society in general and the local community
- Personal growth: to what extent you feel stretched and challenged by your job
- My manager: how you feel towards your immediate boss and day-to-day managers
- My company: feelings about our company as opposed to the people you work with
- My team: how you feel about your immediate colleagues
- Fair deal: how happy employees feel about their pay and benefits.
