Totemic is officially a ‘Best Company’ to work for!

Totemic Group has been recognised on the official ‘Best Companies to Work For’ list, which measures, improves and recognises great workplace engagement.

Totemic’s mission is to deliver personal financial remedies and contribute to the wellbeing of its staff and community. It first began in 1992 with a small team working in a garage and now has around 600 staff working across multiple sites.

A 1 Star or ‘Very Good’ accreditation from Best Companies is a significant achievement that shows an organisation is taking workplace engagement seriously and that it cares about doing things right, it values its people, and it understands the importance of a truly engaged workforce.

To achieve accreditation, Totemic employees were invited to participate in the Best Companies survey and were quizzed on a series of statements about their work lives across three sections ‘Wellbeing’, ‘My Company’ and ‘Giving Something Back’. This included questions about physical and mental wellbeing, pay and benefits, personal growth and teams and leadership.

An overwhelming 95% of staff agreed Totemic encourages charitable activities, while 85% said they believed they could make a valuable contribution to the success of the organisation. Three in every four members of staff (75%) said they were happy with the balance between their work life and their home life.

Lianne Firth, Company Director of the Totemic Group, said: “Totemic has an open and relaxed culture where decisions are made quickly. We readily adapt to ever-changing markets. We seek to improve – our people are centre stage to our development.

“We have a dynamic nature, celebrating and rewarding our people for good business. We promote activity and health. Our business has a dedicated engagement function where we focus on making Totemic a better place to work. When our work is done, we encourage our people to have fun.

“Thank you to all our wonderful teams who work across the Group and its individual businesses for their continued hard work and for getting involved with the survey to have their say about our organisation. We really appreciate each and every one of you.”
